about

Ah, Anderson's lyrics. How he would agonise over each word and we could never get him to write the vital third verse. He had what he had to say and there was no messing with waffle. All power to him - this is a tragi-beautiful track and one of our strongest in my opinion.

lyrics

It seems to me, the closer you get the further you really are.
A grain of truth is lost in lies or behind your diguises.
A child of beauty has no place in the modern world.

Call me a fool, call me a fool,
call me a fool and you shall see.

Lady of dreams, reality is closeby now.
One of my dreams has always been Angela Rippon (Angela Rippon)
A child of beauty has no place in the modern world.

(Chorus)

It seems to me, the closer you get the further you really are.
A grain of truth is lost in lies or behind your diguises.
A child of beauty has no place in the modern world.

Call me a fool, call me a fool, call me a fool,
Call me a fool, call me a fool,
call me a fool and you shall see.
